Princess prompts by age
“Use this prompt” fills in the generator and sets the detail level. Every page is drawn fresh, so if one misses, change one detail and try again.

|

|
| Ages 10 to 12Medium | Rapunzel's stone tower in a forest with a very long braid hanging from the window, storybook style A scene from the 1812 Grimm tale rather than a film costume. |
|
| Teens and adultsDetailed | portrait of a princess with an ornate lace collar, a jeweled crown and a brocade gown with repeating patterns Lace and brocade give dense pattern work. |
Build the princess your child describes
Ask your child five questions and put the answers into one sentence:
| Ask about | Answers children give |
|---|---|
| Hair | a long braid, curls, a bob, two buns, a ponytail |
| Outfit | a ball gown, armor, explorer clothes, a space suit, pajamas |
| Companion | a fox, a horse, a dragon, a cat, a pet frog |
| Place | a castle, an ice palace, a treehouse, under the sea, the moon |
| Doing | dancing, reading, riding, sword practice, baking |
For example: “a princess with two buns and glasses, wearing explorer clothes and a crown, riding a horse through a jungle with a fox beside her.” Glasses, a hearing aid or a wheelchair are easy to include if your child wants a princess like them.
Fairy-tale princesses that are free to draw
The stories below are old enough to be in the public domain, so their scenes are yours to draw. Studio films based on them are a different matter: Disney's character designs are protected, and its 1937 Snow White film stays under US copyright until the end of 2032 (95 years from publication). Describe the scene from the book, not a costume from a film.
| Tale | First published | A scene to ask for |
|---|---|---|
| Cinderella | Charles Perrault, 1697 | a pumpkin turning into a coach at midnight |
| Sleeping Beauty | Charles Perrault, 1697 | a castle wrapped in thorny briars |
| Snow White | Brothers Grimm, 1812 | the seven dwarfs' cottage in a forest clearing |
| Rapunzel | Brothers Grimm, 1812 | a stone tower with a long braid hanging down |
| The Frog King | Brothers Grimm, 1812 | a princess at a well with a golden ball and a frog |
A page for every party guest
For a princess party, ask each guest one question in advance (what pet their princess has, say) and make one page per guest. Eight guests take four days on the free plan, or one sitting with Pro. Print a couple of spares for siblings and late arrivals.
